The Adrenal Medulla

The Adrenal Medulla is really a part of the sympathetic nervous system, and the main substance produced is epinephrine with small amounts of dopamine. The adrenal medulla appears to remain quite functional with age although it would experience similar changes to other components of the nervous system. The catecholamines are active in stress/emergency as is cortisol.
